Instead of being at home preparing for his mid-term examination, 10-year-old Richard Ramballie is being treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation (GPHC) after he was struck down by a speeding minibus BKK1939 last Sunday on Agriculture Road, Mon Repos.
The victim of lot 233 Good Hope, East Coast Demerara was returning home after one of his “frequent” visits to a nearby gas station where he would normally go to ‘get kerosene’ when the tragic accident occurred.
A close source explained that the 10-year-old was on his bicycle when a speeding minibus driven by 40-year-old Dharamdeo Ramnarian hit into the lad and picked him off his cycle.
The injured Ramballie was immediately rushed to the GPHC in an unconscious state while the driver was taken into custody at the Beterverwagting Police Station.
Ramballie was taken for a CT-Scan since it is suspected that he sustained head injuries.
