– youngest sibling goes on hunger strike
Suzette Piggott, the mother of 14-year-old Jamela Piggott, a Dolphin Secondary School student is afraid that something bad might have happened to her daughter who ran away from her Hadfield Street, Lodge home on Tuesday evening.
Piggott told Kaieteur News that on the said evening she had scolded her daughter for printing a tattoo on the right side of her abdomen. It was after this that the girl ran out of the home.
“I didn’t know that she had a tattoo but when I see it, I started to fret and tell she I gon beat she, but it wasn’t so serious that it would’ve cause her to want to get-away,” said Piggott.
The distraught woman added that she is worried since it is the elections season and she knows not where her daughter is and in what condition she is in.
While making enquiries at the girl’s school, the woman said she overheard someone talking about Jamela being at an old man’s house in Albouystown.
She added that she does not know how true it is but she has already informed the police.
Piggott told Kaieteur News that Jamela’s 11-year-old sister has gone on a hunger strike until her sister is safely home.
