Boujhnarine Persaud’s 100 and 4 for 20 steers Port Mourant B to victory
An outstanding all-round performance from Boujhnarine Persaud of Port Mourant B highlighted latest play in the New Building Society Second Division cricket competition in the Ancient County.

Persaud slammed a solid 109 which included 12 fours and 5 sixes to help his team reach 206 for 9 in their allotted 30 overs against Belvedere United who were bundled out for 63 with Persaud coming back with his off-spin to take 4 for 20 from 6 overs.
Off-spinner Michael Persaud of No. 72 Cut and Load grabbed 6 for 45 from 6 overs, his performance was not able however to stop Strikers from amassing 259 for 5 from 30 overs with Shaun Jackman contributing 50 and Trishan Ramsarran 43.
When Cut and Load replied Strikers’ medium pacer Kenneth Jamsie captured 5 for 31 from 6 overs which did the job to restrict them to 180.
Scoring half centuries were Bishram Kallimuthu of Jai Hind, Ryan Mohamed of West Canje and Chetram Bassant of Gangaram Strykers. Medium pacer Faurdeen Kassim of Gangaram Strykers also had a 4-wicket haul.

Belvedere United 63 in 16.3 overs; Boujhnarine Persaud 4 for 20, Manoj Looknauth 3 for 13, Mahendra Budram 2 for 8.
At No. 72 – Strikers beat No. 72 Cut and Load by 79 runs. Strikers 259 for 5 in 30 overs; Shaun Jackman 50, Trishan Ramsarran 43, Orin George 39, Imran Khan 36, Michael Persaud 6 for 45. No. 72 Cut and Load made 180 in 29 overs; Vinod Persaud 33, Kenneth Jamsie 5 for 31.
At Albion Front – Jai Hind beat Albion Community Centre by 9 wickets. Albion Community Centre made 129 in 30 overs; Balchand Baldeo 26, R.C. Sohan 3 for 17, Vishal Machai 2 for 23. Jai Hind made 131 for 1 in 15 overs; Bishram Kallimuthu 63 N.O, Krishna Harripersaud 30, Verapen Moonsammy 28*.
At Kortheberaadt – Flying Star beat West Canje on a better run rate after bad light brought a premature end to their match. Flying Star made 225 for 7 in 35 overs; Kevin O’Brian 35*, David Durant 30 N.O, Quacy De Veldt 29, Glen Narine 2 for 32, Michael West 2 for 36. West Canje 181 for 6 in 30 overs; Ryan Mohamed 53 retired hurt, Safraz Kadir 31, Adrian Busgith 29, Quacy De Veldt 2 for 44.
At Gangaram – Gangaram Strykers beat Tucber Park B by 7 wickets. Tucber Park B made 197 in 26.2 overs; Alex Gomes 44, Trinson Bynoe 38, Mark Jackman 33, Aryton Adams 30, Faurdeen Kassim 4 for 29, Looknauth Hussein 3 for 32. Gangaram Strykers 198 for 3 in 21 overs; Chetram Bassant 51, Rakesh Ramsamooj 38*, Faurdeen Kassim 35*, Aryton Adams 2 for 51.
At Bush Lot Farm – Kennard’s Memorial beat Johanna Bush Rangers by 43 runs. Kennard’s Memorial 148 in 25.1 overs; Quincy Grimmond 25, Satrohan Singh 3 for 16, Parmanand Parasram 3 for 35, Looknauth Ramsundar 2 for 10.
