Dear Editor,
THE New Jersey Arya Samaj/Guyana Central Arya Samaj Humanitarian Mission, Inc., calls on all our Religious Leaders, people of faith, brothers and sisters of our nation to intone their voices in prayers for peace, harmony, respectability and oneness in our nation at this very important time in our election. Let us turn to God for His mercy and guidance and to guide our voters to use their best judgement in making their right choices in the interest of electing a President for our beautiful Guyana who will serve our citizen.
We pray that who are elected will do justice, love and goodness to our country. Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls of hate and injustice that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish our purposes on earth.
Dear God, who has given us this good land of our heritage, we humbly beseech thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of thy favor and glad to do thy will.
Bless our land with honorable industry, sound education, and pure manners and respect. Save us from violence, discord and confusion. Endue with the guidance of wisdom to those whom in thy name we entrust the authority of leadership of Government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience of thy law, we may show forth thy praise amongst our people of faith.
As we approach Election Day, I would like all to join me in a petition for peace. Let us focus our minds on gathering together peacefully our right choice and for the next President of our beautiful Guyana. Dear God! Help us to be patient in long lines and courteous to volunteers on Election Day. Let none of us thrust our agenda upon others, but let us seek to be peacemakers on the day that will determine the future of our country.
Let us use knowledge, wisdom, and discernment as we approach our voting places and be ever mindful of the decision we make and how it will affect the future of our Nation. And as we walk away from the voting places, let us be prayerful for the man who will be selected as our choice for the next President of the Republic of Guyana. Whoever it will be, let it be well with our souls.
Dear Lord! Lead us from death to life, from falsehood to truth. Lead us from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead us from hate to love, from nonviolence to peace. Let peace fill our heart, our world, and our beautiful Country Guyana. Peace, peace, peace.
Pandit Suresh Sugrim
