Play in the 77th Birthday Inter Ward, Street and Village Knockout football fiesta for Mayor Hamilton Green continues on Saturday December 3 at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda.
Four heated matches are scheduled with the first starting at 6:00PM with Alexander Street and Mocha. The second and third matches will be contested between Mojo’s Lions and Kuru Kuru Warriors; and Alexander Village and Timehri Panthers respectively. The final match of the night will be played between Western A and Grove.
The excitement continues on Sunday December 4 at the same venue with North East La Penitence against Western B from 6:00PM. West Front Road will compete against Uitvlugt, Reggae Boys and Stewartville collide and Leopold Street and West Side All Stars battle as teams continue to battle for a spot in the quarterfinals.

The finals for Mayor Green birthday football fiesta is set for December 8 from 9:30PM following the quarter and semifinal matches earlier in the night starting from 6:00pm.
The teams are battling for the Body Max and International Guyanese entertainer Eddie Grant sponsored respective $200,000 and $100,000 first and second prizes.
Games will last for 30 minutes each with the ‘no offside rule’ in effect. Games ending in a stalemate after the 30 minutes mark will go straight to sudden death penalty shootout mode to decide the faith of each team.
Rule 5 which pertain to teams arriving one hour before the start of their respective games and Rule 19 which states that teams arriving late for their games will forfeit those games, handing the other team present a walkover will be in full effect to all participating teams. The tournament is being officiated by referees from the Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) and players are free to represent any team of their choice once they are registered with that team. Meanwhile, Larry Wills on behalf of DDL presented a few footballs to Mayor’s 77 Birthday Anniversary Football Tournament at GFC ground on Tuesday evening in the presence of the players and Coordinator of the tournament Lennox Arthur.
Speaking on behalf of DDL to Kaieteur News, Wills said the tournament will be a fun one and they are proud of being on board and hopes that there will be female games in the future.
Among the sponsors for Mayor’s Birthday Football Fiesta are Body Max Gym who donated the first prize, Guyanese International star Eddie Grant who put up the second prize, BK International, Chris Fernandes, New Thriving Restaurant, Sterling Products, Winston Rambarran, Nigel’s Super Market, Dr. Colin Watson, Crown Mining, Farfan and Mendes, James Bovell of the Business School and Clem Duncan Snr of Swansea.
