Cops say Kwame Mc Coy gun-butting, other assault cases with DPP

The office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) is in possession of various reports concerning the alleged assault of civilians at the hands of Liaison to the President, Kwame Mc Coy.
Among them is one concerning the alleged gun-butting of APNU activist, Clifton Stewart, by Mc Coy some three Saturdays ago, a senior police official disclosed yesterday.
According to the official, the report concerning Stewart was sent to the DPP’s office recently. However, Mc Coy has reportedly still not given investigators a written statement on this matter, although he had indicated that he would have done so.
Clifton Stewart, the alleged victim, gave investigators police a written statement and a medical document last Wednesday.
The police official pointed out that one has an option of refusing to give a statement.
Kaieteur News was also told that other assault allegations against the Liaison to President Jagdeo have also been sent to the DPP.
According to the source, one of the reports concerns allegations by a woman who claimed that Mc Coy struck her with his vehicle.
The source was unable to give a reason why there has been no further development in these matters, which occurred weeks ago, when, in contrast, police have already charged four men for allegedly wounding three Buxton youths last Wednesday.
In late October, 22-year-old Natalia Ross alleged that she was run over by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) driven by Mc Coy.
Roxanne McKenzie is terribly upset that McCoy is apparently being allowed to get off. The incident stemmed from an earlier altercation between volunteers from two major political parties over the erection of campaign material in Georgetown.
According to reports, volunteers from the ruling PPP/C were erecting posters on lamp posts along Regent Street when they were confronted by several persons who objected to the “obscuring of another party’s campaign material.”
This led to a heated argument and the PPP/C volunteers summoning McCoy. It allegedly ended with Mc Kenzie being struck by the SUV.

Why Guyanese have allowed this shrimp to do what he has done and get away with it is a reflection of the sub-human level to which Guyanese have allowed themselves to be subjugated. The more craziness this guy does and the more the media merely report him getting away with them, is the more empowered he feels. Someone has to simply say, “Enough is enough!”

Yo waste of time. Look at the history of the DPP and the cases involving any of the protected citizens. What about the our man in Brazil who shot in the air like an arab celebrating the end a tyrant. Nothing will come out of this.

It is a case of different strokes for different folks. A person goes to the Police makes an allegation a person gets locked up on the basis of the allegation. No investigation to ascertain whether the allegation is true or not, locked sometimes for the mandated 72 hrs. But here the DPP’s office is to decide.

The DPP is not an independent person, she was politically appointed and as such decisions on who to prosecute and who not to, are driven by her politics and party affiliation. In the next government this position needs to be filled by someone who upholds the law not party affiliation and friends.

there we go again who are these guys that called them self police they such a coward.mr.clifton have marks of violence on his head there is also a medical certificate issue in regards to his injuries why the hell McCoy could not being charge place before the court and the file could have still gone for advice at the DPP who this officer think he is fooling, I want to ask him how many times he had cases like McCoy and and even serious than McCoy and he charge them and then later send the file to the DPP. I am saying that these Police officers need to be fired they are not doing their duty without fears, this is a part of the OATH OF OFFICE they swear to before becoming a Police.

We have to investigate the DPP in the event we have a government change. We aslo need a big change at DPP. Shalimar should be jailed too.
