A fine display of left arm pace bowling by West Indies Female Cricketer Erva Giddings and an unbeaten opening partnership between National youth players Dominic Rikhi and Shailendra Shameer led Rose Hall Town Bakewell to an easy 10 wicket win over Belvedere United at the Area ‘H’ Ground.
This was the team’s third successive victory in the Berbice Cricket Board New Building Society Second Division Tournament.
Batting first after winning the toss, Belvedere United were bundled out for a meager 63 in 17.3 overs; only Neil Pike reached double figures with 18 (4×4). Giddings took 4 for 15 off her allotted 8 overs, off spinners Loyydel Lewis 3 for 7 and Dominic Rikhi 3 for 12 also bowled well to support Giddings. It was Giddings’ second four wicket haul in the tournament.
Needing to score 64 run in 40 overs, Rose Hall town openers Dominic Rikhi and Shailendra Shameer raced to 65 without loss in 6.4 overs with Rikhi unbeaten on 35 (4×4, 1×6) and Shameer 30 (3×4).
