Stanislaus Mohabir, 50, of Lot 508 Norton Street, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine- Beharry, yesterday, and pleaded not guilty to a charge of threatening to shoot Pamela Gonzales in her face. The charge stemmed from a complaint by the virtual complainant.
The prosecution stated that on the day of the incident, Gonzales took police officers to the home of a young man whom she claimed had stolen articles belonging to her son. The court heard that Mohabir came out of his home and inquired about the police presence at the woman’s home.
An argument ensued and the man reportedly abused the woman subsequently telling her that he would shoot her in the face. The matter was reported to the police and Mohabir was arrested for the alleged threat.
Mohabir was granted bail in the sum of $50,000. He was also placed on a bond to keep the peace pending the conclusion of the matter. The Norton Street resident is expected to be in court today.
