Dear Editor,
I noticed a number of leaders of the opposition parties and sections of the media and even on FaceBook are making a concerted effort to discredit the Presidential Candidate, Donald Ramotar of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic, as they witness the continuous overwhelming support from all Guyanese for that party.
So desperate are the opposition parties and their supporters that they resort to unwarranted attacks on Mr. Ramotar and other senior members of the PPP/C to gain political attention and spread misinformation and create confusion at a time when all Guyanese should unite, despite their political affiliations.
As Elections Day approaches, the opposition and its well-oiled rumor mill continue to manufacture self polls, hearsay of so-called experts and the launching of a nasty character assassination of Mr. Ramotar and other PPP/C Executive Members.
The opposition is becoming more and more scared that they will remain in opposition so they resort to slinging dirt on a man who has managed to steer the PPP/C to four consecutive victories. Yet another victory will be achieved under his watch and this time he is the Presidential Candidate.
Donald Ramotar and the PPP/C is the best option for Guyana when compared to what the other political parties and their candidates have to offer. Mr. Ramotar has integrity, depth, charisma and a human touch for which he is greatly admired by many Guyanese. Let us resolve to unite for this election and dispel the naysayers and those that are out to spread hate and disunity.
