The semi-finals of the Carib/Pepsi Big Smash t20 cricket competition organized by the Guyana Cricket Board will be now played at Bourda on Saturday due to the unavailability of the Albion ground tomorrow when the ‘final four’ was planned for in Berbice.
Tournament Director Robin Singh informed yesterday that the matches will be played at Bourda on Saturday from 09:00hrs and 13:00hrs with the winners meeting the final under lights at Albion on December 3.
The GCB President’s X1 will face-off with the Church’s Chicken Corentyne Titans and Mario Pizza West Berbice battle Gizmos & Gadgets Georgetown Pitbulls in Saturday’s semis and admission is free.
Singh said that preparations are going well for the final-four stage of the competition although he revealed that he was hoping the Coach of the Titans would put in some more work with his team leading up to Saturday’s clash.
Singh, who said he would be at Bourda today to ensure proper work in done on the pitch, added that each team has been given six new white balls to aid in their preparation. Singh also disclosed that the deadline for the naming of four teams was yesterday evening and promised that the names of the semi-final squad members will be released to the Media today.
