Competition in the Banks DIH sponsored East Bank Football Association / Coca Cola Senior League is set to continue today at the Diamond Community Centre Ground with a double header. Kuru Kururu Warriors will come up against Kuru Kuru Lions with Diamond United set to take on Mocha Champs.
Timehri Panthers continues to hold pole position and along with Banks DIH and Grove are assured on a place in the knock-out round of the league.
In latest play, Timehri Panthers brushed aside Kuru Kururu Warriors 3-1. Seon David (45), Leon Denny and Travis Thornhill in the 55th and 56th converted for Timehri Panthers with Warriors getting their consolation goal off the boot of Selwyn Lopes in the 47th minute.
Panthers were also in a winning mode when they tamed Kuru Kuru Lions 6-1. For the Panthers, Delon Job netted a double (44, 68) with one each from Collis Messiah in the 15th, Oliver Denny four minutes later, Travis Thornhill 37th and Lawrence Steele in the 60th minute. Pulling one back for the Lions was Simon Murtland in the 61st minute.
Diamond United drew with Kuru Kuru Lions 1-1; Kester Watson netted in the 4th minute for Diamond, Lions replied through Keith Blair in the 56th minute.
Banks DIH blasted their way to an emphatic 10-0 triumph over Mocha Champs. Devon Forde was the star of the show rocking the nets on six occasions (10, 21, 43, 46, 58, 69). Ike Garraway touched in a brace (7, 65) with Phillip Rowley and Seon Mc Kenzie inking their names on the score sheets in the 35th and 38th minute respectively.
Diamond United and Mocha Champs will open play today at the Diamond Ground from 13:00hrs, the main attraction between Warriors and Lions.
