West Front Road hammered Plaisance 8-0 in latest action of the Guinness in the Street football tournament played at the Cultural Centre Tarmac. This was the largest margin of victory for the night as the West boys ran amok over their outplayed opponents.
The evening however started with North Last Entrance overcame Rasville 3-0 with Rickford June 2nd and 7th min with a double and Damion Barker 4th min on target for the winners.
Queen Street, Tiger Bay then edged Island All Star 1-0 Deon Alfred 6th min making the difference.
The good night for teams from Tiger Bay continued with Hope Street, Tiger Bay getting past Eagles of Linden 1-0 with Keoma Gravesande 8th min the scorer.
Broad Street beat Retrieve of Linden 4-0. Shawn Smith 6th, 8th and 11th min with a hat-trick and Kelvin Grimes 20th min were the marksmen.
West Front Road then lit up the night with a goal rampage on Plaisance scoring eight unanswered strikes. Wendell Pedro 1st, 4th and 5th, Randolph Wagner 6th and 7th min and Hubert Pedro 9th, 11th and 14th min were the men on fire.
Game 6 saw Stevedore Housing Scheme getting past Kitty 3-2. For Stevedore, Fitzroy Weatherspoon 15th and 18th min and Elroy Parks 20th min replied after Kitty opened the scoring through Jermaine Williams 6th min and Travis Martin 7th min.
Lodge Housing Scheme and Sophia played out a 2-2 stalemate. Goal Scorers were – Lodge Housing Scheme Pernel Schultz 12th min and Leroy Griffith 9th min, while for Sophia Sheik Kamal 10th min and Akeem Jikcon 14th min responded.
And in the last game of the night Back Circle brushed aside East La Penitence 5-1.
For Back Circle Andy Duke 3rd and 5th min, Allan Kennedy 7th min and Vincent Thomas 8th and 21st min ensured victory, East La Penitence replied through Orvin Milton 15th min.
Meanwhile, action in the tournament has been switched to the East Ruimveldt Community Centre Tarmac tonight. Play had been fixed for the Albouystown Basketball Court but had to be shifted.
In the scheduled games starting at 18:00hrs, Alexander Village face Kingstown, while to follow are East Front Road vs Buxton, Durban Street vs Laing Avenue, Castillo Housing Scheme vs Albouystown B, West Back Road vs Leopold Street, Globe Yard vs Festival City, Norton Street vs Charlestown and Albouystown A vs BV.
