Devika Persaud, a single mother of four and a victim of an abusive marriage, on Friday, took the initiative to assist the children living at Joshua House Children’s Centre by donating some much needed items. Among the items were toiletries, food stuff, a few toys and some clothing.
She was able to leave her abusive husband and she struggled to maintain her daughter even as she prepared to welcome a new child, oblivious to fact that she was carrying triplets.
Persaud, a security guard for the Neal and Massy Group of Companies, was able to sustain herself and her eldest daughter, as well as her triplets, Rashri, Radha and Reneka through the invaluable assistance she received from kind hearted persons.
Now that she is “stable enough” and her daughters are of age, Persaud is determined to assist others like herself, particularly the less fortunate children.
Having seen the expression on the faces of the Joshua House children, Devika is calling upon members of the public, particularly mothers, to donate and help to contribute to these children having a good life.

Hats off to you Ms Persaud! This is a wonderful thing you did! We need more people like you. My ministry works with abused women and children across the globe as well, and it is wonderful to see people’s face light up with little things that we often take for granted such as a meal, clothes, clean drinking water etc.
No matter on how many continents and different nationalities I work with, I get the best satisfaction when I work in Guyana where I was born, because irrespective of what happens in Guyana it is ALWAYS my home and Guyanese people are my kin.
I pray that as Christmas approaches that you please extend a helping hand to someone in need, be it in the form of a meal, a favour or even a kind word or smile. It will brighten someone’s day and the Lord WILL bless you! Be blessed. 🙂
Well done Devika, God bless you and the children. I would love to help some children in need in Guyana….
This is very good !! and trust me there are allot of other children apart from the ones at Joshua house that needs help too.
An Address is needed for donations…..I am also under the impression that these groups are only interesting in CASH…….I have a lot of clothing….as good as new to donate to the less fortunate….Money I will invest personally whenever I visit…..there are also lots of talks going around about those who are incharged, helping themselves to the very best of what is donaded….may the good Lord shower Devika and her daughters with his blessings…..I pay you a visit on my very next trip.
