Several teams including BV win latest matches
Competition in the Banks DIH sponsored Guinness in the Street Football tournament will continue tonight at the Culture Centre Tarmac starting at 18:00hrs.
In the scheduled matches; North- Last Entrance face Kingstown in the opening game of the night, while to follow at 18:30hrs Sophia oppose Festival City, at 19:00hrs East Front Road tackle Eagles of Linden, 19:30hrs Durban Street play Retrieve of Linden.
At 20:00hrs Albouystown A tangle with Charlestown, 20:30hrs Stevedore Housing Scheme come up against Island All star, 21:00hrs West Back Road battle Albouystown B and at 21:30hrs West Front Road challenge Back Circle.
Meanwhile, last Saturday evening at Burnham Court in Georgetown, several victories were recorded for participating teams including Beterverwagting.
East Coast team Beterverwagting (BV) needled Norton Street 1-0 compliments of a Delroy Deen 25th minute strike.
In other action: Plaisance went down to East La Penitence 4-1. Goal Scorers: Plaisance Carlos Mathews 10th min; La Penitence Sheldon Edwards 5th and 8th min, Dennis Edwards 15th and Marlon Chalmers 25th min.
Leopold Street beat Castillo Housing Scheme 3-0. For Leopold Street – Omalo Williams 8th min, Rawle Audain 10th min and Kenny Fraser 20th min were on target. Alexander Village beat Rasville 2-1. Godfrey Parris 11th min replied to Alexander Village’s Dellon Williams 5th min and Leon Yaw 6th min strikes.
Queen Street-Tiger Bay edged Kitty 1-0 with Deon Alfred 17th min on target.
Broad Street squeezed past Laing Avenue 1-0 with Jimmy Gravesande 6th min the scorer.
Tiger Bay took a walk over from Buxton who did not show up.
Lodge Housing Scheme and Globe Yard drew 2-2. Goal Scorers: Lodge Housing Scheme – Leon Roberts 17th min and Kerwin Bethune 19th min; Globe Yard – Aubrey Clarke 8th min and Jamal Harlequin 11th min.
