National Cycling Coach, Hassan Mohamed has organized the 12th Annual Diamond Mineral Water 50 Miles Road Cycle Race to close off his cycling events for the year 2011.
The race will commence on Sunday, November 20 from Wales Police Station at 09:00hrs; proceed to Bushy Park on the East Bank of Demerara before returning to Demerara Harbour Bridge for the finish.
The Veteran and Upright Cyclists will turn back at Uitvlugt Community Centre, finishing at the Harbour Bridge.
The race is open to all racing cyclists, Veteran, Juniors, Seniors, Upright and Ladies.
The first six finishers will receive prizes: also the First three Juniors, three Veterans, three Uprights and the first Female and Veteran O- 60 yrs Cyclists will all receive prizes. Eight Prime Prizes are also to be won during the course o the race.
The defending champion is Walter Grant Stuart among the seniors, who clocked 1Hr/58Mins/22Secs last year. Other defending category winners are: Junior – Paul De Nobrega, Veteran – Kennard Lovell and Upright – Nigel Jacobs.
Representatives from Demerara Distillers Limited, sole distributor for Diamond Mineral Water Choice of Champions, will distribute the prizes to the winning participants.
