The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) in association with Metro Office and Computer Supplies on Tuesday last officially launched the Berbice All Time Under-15 team at the Board’s office, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Metro handed over an official poster of the team which was earlier this year selected by a panel of judges headed by International Cricket Journalist Sean Devers.
Chairman of the Berbice Cricket Board Special Events Committee, Hilbert Foster who spearheaded the project stated that the Under-15 All Time XI was the third of its kind to be unveiled following the Under-19 and Senior Teams.
The main aim naming the All Time Teams is to honor and recognize the best of players to represent the Ancient County at the different levels while serving as an inspiration to the current generation of players.
Foster congratulated the members of the Under-15 All Time XI and said that the programme was executed on the BCB 70th Anniversary as an off the field project. He noted that discipline, attitude, commitment along with performances were among the factors used to select the team.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Secretary/CEO called on young cricketers to dedicate themselves fully to the game in order to achieve success like those players of the past.
Foster expressed gratitude to Metro Office & Computer Supplies and the judges, especially Sean Devers for making the project successful.
BCB Treasurer, Anil Beharry and Board President Keith Foster stated that the All Time XI was a true reflection of Berbice’ domination of youth cricket over the years in Guyana while expressing the hope that the current generation of players would uphold the high traditions of the past.
The All Time Berbice Under-15 Team – Sewnarine Chattergoon, Hemnarine Chattergoon, Narsingh Deonarine (Captain), Assad Fudadin (Vice Captain), Roopnarine Ramgobin, Damodar Daesrat, Gobin Narine, Jonathan Foo, Hemant Poonu, Suraj Paltoo and Shevon Marks.
