Company secured a 2-0 victory over Friendship Back in the final of the Buxton zone of the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport 7:15 Inter Block football tournament yesterday at the Buxton ground.
Pierre Joseph and Sherwin Griffith were on target for the winners to secure their spot in the East Coast Zone playoff.
The preliminary action saw Company beating Friendship Front 3-1 on penalty kicks after the contest ended 1-1 in regulation time. Friendship Back then eliminated Buxton Back 4-3 also on penalty kicks after their game also ended locked 1-1 after regulation time.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Sport Steve Ninvalle in an invited comment said he was ecstatic at the reaction the event received at Buxton. He noted that a large crowd turned out for the competition and the teams played exciting football. He informed that they are looking to stage the East Coast Zone final at Buxton on Saturday under lights.

Tyrone Worrell, captain of the winning Company team was named the MVP of the tournament for his outstanding performance. He received a football for his efforts.
Several other areas around the country are involved in their preliminary rounds to determine the teams contesting the latter stage of the tournament.
The winner in each area will receive $50,000 complements of the Government of Guyana and will go through to the final round where $150,000 will be prize for the overall champion.
The final is scheduled for the GFC on November 26.
More action in the tournament is set for today over in Den Amstel. From 4:15pm, Fellowship oppose Back Street, while at 5:00pm, Alabama collide with Road.
