The PPPC has delivered on its past manifesto promises

The PPPC is poised to win yet another victory in the upcoming general and regional elections come November 28, 2011.
One major contributory factor to the successes the Party enjoyed at the polls is the fact that the Party has been able over the decades to deliver on its Manifesto promises unlike other political parties which were strong on promises but hopelessly weak on their ability to translate promises into tangible results.
Take for example the PNC and the United Force, the only two political parties currently in existence other than the PPP that exercised political power following the removal of the PPP from power in the elections of 1964.
The PNC kicked out the United Force from the coalition government just a mere three years after the coalition came into being after TUF complained of corruption and the unauthorized and extravagant use of taxpayers money by the PNC administration.
The United Force had in its Manifesto promised the Guyanese people that should it be elected to office there would be free milk and cassava and that the United States would be a major partner in the realization of the dream of a highway to happiness.
Needless to state all of this turned out to be nothing but hot air as the UF was booted out of the coalition partner on the eve of the 1968 elections which were blatantly rigged by the PNC to perpetuate itself to office.
With the United Force out of the way, the PNC used its stolen majority to further fool the Guyanese people with slogans and empty promises. Guyanese were fed a fed a diet of lies and empty promises which included the now infamous Feed, House and Clothe the Nation by 1976 as part of the Sophia Declaration.
The Programme failed to deliver on its promises and Guyanese found themselves in a much worse situation that they were prior to 1976. Despite the
abject failure of the PNC to deliver on its promises, more promises were forthcoming including making the small man a real man and when that failed the unpalatable slogan of ‘eat less, sleep less, and work more!
The end result was that the Guyanese people were reduced to the poorest in the western hemisphere and the country itself reduced to a pariah state with the largest per capita debt in the entire hemisphere.
Under the PPPC administration, the debt to revenue ratio has been significantly reduced and the country elevated from a beggar nation status to one that is financially viable and enjoying good economic health.
At this election time, promises will be made as in the past years but experience has demonstrated that there is only one party that has the capacity to deliver on elections promises and that is the PPPC.
