The numerous Government contracts in Bartica which were stalled as a result of the unavailability of stones have been resumed.
According to reports out of Bartica, the main supplier to the community, BK International has decided to make their products available. As such the building projects which were stalled because no stones were available have recommenced.
Currently works are ongoing at the seawall in Bydarabo, the Two Miles Primary School as well as on several government buildings.
For close to one month, businesses in Bartica were not able to buy stone from the BK International Tiperu Quarries. This had caused construction in and around Bartica to come to a halt.
However about three days back businesses in Bartica reported that they are now able to buy stones in any quantity from the quarry.
Owner of BK International Brian Tiwari had stated that he was not aware that persons were not able to purchase stones from the establishment.
He had told this publication that the only issue he was aware of was the fact that the scale which is used to weight stones before purchase, was down.
This problem has since been rectified.
