Pitbulls, King Street Ballers, Pacesetters ‘A’ and Above the Rim completed
the Super 16 Round of the nationwide Mackeson Smooth Moves 3-on-3 Basketball Competition Thursday night at the Independence Boulevard Court in Albouystown.
The 2011 tournament said farewell to one of the venues that consistently had large turnouts since the Round of 16 will be played in Linden next weekend and the Super Eight in Georgetown at the Burnham Basketball Court.
The mega tournament heats up with the commencement of the knockout rounds as the 16 best street-balling teams have advanced to the second round. The Georgetown round Thursday night was a do-or-die battle among some of the best players in the City.
However, it was the four strongest teams that survived the battle as hundreds turned out again to witness what is truly a gruelling contest for the $1m first place prize. Pitbulls and Pacesetters shared the Zone-winner prize for winning their groups.
