The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) has announced that the crescent of Eid ul Adha has been sighted and Eid ul Adha, also known as festival of Sacrifice, will be observed on tomorrow.
A release from the CIOG also stated that the day of Arafah will be commemorated on today.
Eid ul Adha is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son, Ishmael as an act of obedience to God.
CIOG wishes the Muslims and the entire Guyanese community EID MUBARAK!
