New Amsterdamers International, as part of their Barrel Project, distributed a quantity of care packages to “the Golden Girls” of the Good Samaritan Home in Stanleytown, New Amsterdam.
Present at a simple handing over ceremony were Technical Advisory Board members, Mrs Shaundel Phillips and Sharon Correia, who presented the care packages to the residents of the home.

There are 11 senior citizen women living currently in the Good Samaritan Home. The home is managed by the Roman Catholic Church in New Amsterdam.
According to Correia, the items in the care packages were donated by members of the group in the United States. These items were garnered from fundraisers and raffles. Among the items in the packages were foodstuff, toiletries and bed stuff.
The group also effected construction works to the home in June.
Representative of the Roman Catholic Church, Ms Jacqueline Henry, expressed gratitude on behalf of the residents for the items.
