Support for an embattled Returning Officer

Dear Editor,
I wish to voice my opinion on the appointment of Region Four Returning Officer, Mr. Jaigobin Mohabir.
I have known Mr. Mohabir for about 40 years now. He was my teacher at Vryheid’s Lust Primary School. I have found him to be quite a composed and affable person. He has been involved in community activities for many years and was a sports and school administrator.
We have been involved in two Non-Governmental projects, the re-habilitation of Vryheid’s Lust School, when I was the Chairman of the PTA, and the Better Hope Community Centre when I was the chairman of Grouping.
Mr. Jaigobin Mohabir is a credible person, very dedicated, courteous, disciplined, and respected. He portrays a high degree of integrity and trust in his relationship with others. He is very fair in his judgment.
He is a very experienced, knowledgeable, responsible and dependable person in the smooth easy running/ administration of the Guyana Elections.
I write with confidence in the assessment and suitability of Mr. Jaigobin Mohabir’s position as Returning Officer for Region four.
I commend him to keep up the good work.
