Get Set Go of the Jumbo Jet Stable got ready and took off to take away the feature
C class event and the coveted $1.2M top prize and Banks DIH trophy in another major upset as horses of the Jumbo jet Stable dominated proceedings with four wins in a major sweep when the Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club in collaboration with the Shariff Racing stable successfully held their grand one day meet last Sunday at the No 6, Bel Air West Coast Berbice Track.
Imported from the United States, Get Set Go ridden by Trinidadian Jockey A. Padmore for the second time chalked up its second win in as many starts to remain unbeaten since coming to Guyana a few months ago from a fast finishing Message of the Elcock stable and ridden by Daniel Floris.
The animals were off to an even break with Ferry Landing, Tiger Prospect and Get Set Go doing the early running and the lead changing hands constantly with the Message way down in the pack. Get Set Go took control at the far turn and into the straight as the Message accelerated to finish second ahead of Grand De Roja and Ferry landing in the 1200M event.
Better than Gold of the Jagdeo Stable ridden by Trinidadian Jockey Neal Mohamed, return to the track to continue its unbeaten streak for its 10th consecutive victory in the 1200M event and the $800,000 first prize and the Norman Singh Memorial Classic trophy. The animal came through with a burst of speed down the homestretch to ease past Swing Easy ahead of Captain Crook and Big Impact.
The E and F Class race saw another win for the Jumbo Jet stable as Got to Go with Drepaul on the perch went all the way to win the $600,000 winners money from Majestic, Dubai Duchess and Marathon Man in the 1100M race.
It was another win for The Jumbo Jet Stable in the 2 yrs old West Indies bred event as Serenity with Drepaul again in control over took Seattle of The Shariff Stable down the homestretch as Red Cloud and Rock Sonna came in third and fourth. The win was worth $400,000 over 1100M.
The Jumbo Jet Stable continued their winning march with victory in the G class 1100M event as Navin Alli guided Top of the Line over the line with a top class finish on the outside ahead of Work Force, Appealing Harvest and Prado’s Gold. For its win the connection pocketed $250,000 and trophy.
Quincy Girl owned trained and ridden by Nascimento captured the 2 yrs old Guyana Bred 1100M event and the $250,000 winners Money from Blessings, Joyful Victory and Speed Girl.
Jamaican Brian Blake rode Infinity to victory in the I1 and Lower 1200M race from Princess Renuka, Little Spike and Kevin for the, $180,000 top prize.
Little Spike of the Singh Stable ridden by Jamaican Andron Findley came big as it won the $160,000 first prize in the I3 –3 yrs old & over winner of 1 race from Natural Mystic, Cash Connection and Pleasant Surprise over 1100M.
She’s Royal of the Webster stable with Desmond on the mount took care of business in the Division 1, 2 & 3 (J, K&L)1100M race and the $120,000 top prize up for grabs from Black Tricks and Sporting Time.
Yap Drepaul once again was adjudged the top jockey while the Jumbo Jet stable was adjudged the top stable. Trainers Sham ‘Short man’ Chattergoon and D. ‘Blacks’ Ramroop of the Jumbo Jet stable, were adjudge top trainers. The outstanding performers were presented with accolades and trophies compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.

Over $8M was at stake, while over 90 horses took part in the day’s activity.
