After searching for close to a month, Nadia Satroham is still to be found. The family of the young woman is still to be comforted with information of the woman’s whereabouts after she went missing a few weeks ago. The family now fears that something terrible has happened to their loved one. They say it is unlike the woman to not contact the family for such long periods.
The husband of 21-year old Satrohan, Sham Satrohan, who resides in Canada, contacted this newspaper, distraught about the whole ordeal. The man said that he has not been able to make contact with his partner. According to Satroham he had come to Guyana in an effort to locate his wife but his effort has gone in vain.
Satrohan left the country on Friday, but not before he pleaded with this newspaper to highlight the issue one more time. Satrohan said it is mind-boggling that his wife just disappeared. This has triggered every nervous bone in his body the man said. “It is too overbearing, the thought of being here (in Guyana) and still not knowing what is going on with my wife.” Satrohan believes that there is something very wrong about the situation and wishes that the police would do more to locate the woman.
After it was indicated to the family by an unknown individual that they had seen the girl being forced into a vehicle on the Seawalls, the family says they don’t know what to believe. But it is obvious that something fishy is going on, the missing girl’s husband stated. The man said that they had been receiving numerous phone calls about alleged sightings of the young lady but none has proven fruitful.
Kaieteur News understands that Nadia Sathrohan had been in a rocky relationship where her previous partner did not treat her too kindly. He was also said to be possessive. This publication was further told that the said man could not be found by the police and information received is that he had moved from his previous location only a week or two before Satrohan disappeared.
Satrohan’s husband said he is convinced that the man may know something about his missing wife since he had refused to leave the woman alone. The woman’s husband said his wife’s former lover used to call his wife’s phone long after the two had broken up. He further explained that it came to the point where he (the husband) had to “tell the man off” and ask him to leave his wife alone.
Nadia Satrohan had been reported missing since earlier in the month with the last conversation being between the woman and her husband. He nor other family members have been able to contact the missing woman since October 1.
Nadia is the daughter of Laury Vieira who also visited this paper in an effort to get assistance from the public in locating his child.
According to the father, neighbours had seen Satrohan leave her 528 Tuschen, West Coast Demerara home with a parcel. The family said they are extremely worried about Nadia and asks that the public remain vigilant. The family requests any information pertaining to the woman’s whereabouts at numbers 220-3099, 683-1862 and 336-6295.
