Pacesetters ‘A’ unstoppable
King Street Ballers and Above the Rim also advance
Senior National players Stephan Gillis and Royston Siland made sure that their team didn’t suffer the same faith as the other so called ‘big teams’ in the Mackeson 3-on-3 Basketball tournament, as they led Pacesetters ‘A’ into the next round, when action continued on Wednesday evening in Albouystown at the Independence Boulevard basketball court.
Watched by another massive crowd at the venue, Gillis and Siland along with Naylon Loncke and former Junior National point guard Travis Burnett displayed championship like quality while playing undefeated in their four games.

King Street Ballers and Above the Rim, though not finishing atop the group, however, have also qualified to the next round of matches.
Unfortunately, McDoom Kings and Eagles; two teams who had expressed their great desire of claiming the tournament’s $1M first prize, were given marching orders from the Group that consisted five teams.
Pacesetters ‘A’ opened their night in the most impressive way when they reached the 21 points mark against (21 – 10) McDoom Kings with Gillis setting the net on fire and reminding the spectators why he’s known as one of the best shooters Guyana has to offer.
Then again the team repeated their performance against Above the Rim whom they stopped 21 – 7 where Loncke emulated Gillis’ shooting display coupled with the inside dominance of Siland and the quickness of Burnett.
Eagles had their wings clipped 21 – 17 in a closely fought game but once again stopping Gillis from shooting proved to be the most impossible task.
Burnett and Siland took charge in Pacesetters A’s final game when they defeated King Street Ballers 21 – 16 making them the first team in the tournament to score 21 points in all their matches.
Above the Rim was led by Nikko Fraser, Collis Pluck and Marvin Hilliman who’s only lost came at the hands of Pacesetters ‘A’, won their other games 14 – 8 over King Street Ballers; reaching 21 against McDoom (21 – 12) and Eagles 13 – 8.
King Street Baller led by Captain Clarence ‘Picky’ Bennett known for his shooting, fired past McDoom Kings 21 – 11 and Eagles 15 – 8 in the first game of the evening.
The tournament continued last evening where the final group games for the Georgetown Zone was played at the Burnham Basketball Court.
