As the horseracing season returns to its peak after a brief lull, a number of the Clubs are upping the ante with a number of top notch meets with big money on offer for the respective end of season race meets. The Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club, which is always in the sway, is one of those entities.
It has teamed up with beverage giants Ansa Mc Al Trading Guyana Limited to host the final leg of its Triple Crown Classic horserace meet on Sunday November 6 at their track at Alness Corentyne Berbice. The organizers have promised to make the meet one with a difference with a number of new features .The organizers have already put together a massive $7M in cash, trophies and other prizes which will be up for grabs and with ten events list for the day the event once again promises to be a grand affair.
The days programme has a number of feature events, with events for B class, Two three year old events, one for West Indies Bred Horses, while the other is for the Guyana bred animals. There are also 2 two year old events for horses with similar stature as the three year old animals. The F, G and H class events are also top notch events on the day.
The B class event will once again be the feature race on the day’s card with an enormous $1M and trophy compliments of Ansa McAl Guyana Limited on offer over 1700M.
The other races on the day are- The 3yrs old race for West Indies Bred horses is a 1400M gallop and has $400,000 on offer for the winner.
The F and lower race also has a first prize tag of $400,000 over a similar 1400M distance.
The Two Year old race for West Indies Bred Horses winning purse is $320,000 over 1200M.
The Guyana Bred Three Year old animals run for a top prize of $300,000 over 1400M.
Two-year old Guyana Bred horses will be competing for a $250,000 first prize over 1100M.
The G and lower even also have a winner’s money of $300,000 covering 1600M.
The H and Lower race is another 1400M event and has $200,000 as the winning money.
The ‘I’ class event has a pole position prize of $160,000 also over 1400M.
The final race for the day is for animals classified JK&L (Division 1, 2, 3) over 1200M with the winners set to collect $100,000. Race time is 13.00 hrs.
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with accolades compliments of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club.
Meanwhile, preparatory work is continuing on the arena.
