Bernard Da Silva was admitted to the bar last Thursday by Justice William Ramlall.
The new Attorney- at-Law has pledged “to always be guided by the high standards set by my predecessors.”
Mr. Da Silva graduated from the University of Guyana and recently completed the LEC at University of West Indies Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago. He has been studying from 2004-2011 with degrees in Law and a Diploma in Communication.
Former Attorney General Mr. Doodnauth Singh (SC) came out of retirement to personally petition for Mr. Da Silva’s acceptance to the bar in the presence of Justice Ramlall. According to Mr. Da Silva, Justice Ramlall advised that he should walk in his own shadow and create his own footprints in the jurisprudence of Guyana.
Mr. Da Silva further stated that he is grateful to his brother in law along with his sister in law for being his major financers during his years of study.
