The Second Annual Hearts of Oak Masters Football Tournament will take place today and tomorrow at the All Saints Scot Church ground, Princess Elisabeth Road, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
Four teams are down to participate; namely the Host Hearts of Oak Masters and Scott School All Saints out of Berbice and Defending Champions Georgetown Football Club (GFC) and Rastafarian Patriarchs out of Georgetown.
Some of Guyana’s Past National players will roll back the years as they don their football gear to display their skills. Some of the players on show will be –for GFC Peter Lashley, Andrew ‘Docker’ Bright, Terrence Muesa and Wayne Williams; For Rastafarian Patriarchs Terrence Old ‘Head’ Lewis, Royston John and Allan La Rose; The Hearts Of Oak Masters will be led by the Ford brothers, Adrian and Sherwin, Kurt Alphonso, Holder Pedro, Terrence Wills, Brian Simpson and Eion Farley. New Kid on the block the Scott School All Stars teams will include Junior Simmons, Brian “Rastaman” Ralph, Ceon Bristol, Orin Ferdinand, James Campbell and Carl Graham.
The draw will be made prior to the start and game time today is 17:30 hrs, while tomorrow, kick off time is 11:00 hrs. Presentation of Trophies and other incentives will be made to the top teams and outstanding individuals immediately after the completion of the finals.
Former National Players Neil ‘Grizzly’ Humphrey and Phillip ‘Pine’ Carrington are the coordinators.
