Oct 12, 2011 Letters
Dear Editor,
Recently, I read a letter by Aaditey Persaud titled “PPP/C on the forefront of the 2011 elections, others doomed to fail” in the Kaieteur News and Guyana Chronicle on October 7, 2011, and noticed that Mr. Persaud has stated that “This Maxwell masquerades as a lawyer and a private TV owner, and moonlights as a cheap propagandist for the AFC a loser by any standards”.
I am not surprised that someone finally unmasked this Maxwell guy who thinks he is a know-it-all AFC propagandist.
It is quite embarrassing that persons have to keep reminding him that with or without the existence of PNCR, a weakened party, WPA-led APNU or the ‘new commodity with internal problems and ROAR contaminated’ the AFC, the PPP/C will continue to strive for victory.
By now, Maxwell should realize that the PPP/C is ahead of its counterparts in this 2011 election.
Further, recognizing that there is no PNCR, but the WPA-led APNU that slowly erases the stronghold presence of the PNCR, and the ‘new commodity’ AFC, then this seems like an easy win for the PPP/C.
AFC cannot be compared to the PPP/C, since all that AFC can offer its supporters is just ‘talk’ and ineffective proposals while the APNU which is alive because of the PNCR constituency, has inherited only the ugly stain of PNCR rule in the past and hence, has no relativity to the PPP/C.
It is a pity that Maxwell lacks common sense to know that the Guyanese people have no best alternative other than PPP/C, given the fact that the other parties will just have to deceive their supporters in this year’s election to get votes.
This AFC propagandist is insular and naïve to say that PPP/C supporters can stay home during the 2011 election to show their disapproval of the current PPP leadership, but he should note that this will not guarantee that the votes will go for the AFC or APNU. Maxwell might be very well surprised that the people prefer to vote for the PPP/C than to vote for the AFC or APNU.
Hence, in an attempt to defame the PPP/C, Maxwell ends up doing injustice to the AFC by writing his usual nonsense.
