Evergreen Adventures, a flexible Tour Operator, yesterday launched its new travel brochure and also handed over gift certificates to two lucky persons who won trips by simply filling up coupons at GuyExpo 2011.
A sister company of Trans Guyana Airways and founded by the Correia Group of Companies, Evergreen Adventures specializes in nature and adventure tourism throughout Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and North Brazil.
Yesterday, the company handed over the two gift certificates – to Deryck Sattan (a weekend for two at Baganara) and Nadira Tahal (a trip to Kaieteur Falls). The lucky duo had filled coupons offered by the establishment at GuyExpo. Their names were drawn last Monday.
The winners were said to be extremely happy with the prizes. According to Operations Manager, Abdoul Ba, when he informed Sattan about the prize, the winner said he could not believe and asked for a second call for verification. Tahal, he said “felt good” and was particularly excited, having never gone to Kaieteur Falls
The Project Manager stated that the purpose of the venture is to make more persons aware of the tours offered, he further noted that whenever the company has new promotions, an email will be sent to all persons who filled out the coupons at the exhibition.
The new brochure, he disclosed, is to make travelers aware of the tours, and these can be uplifted at Pegasus Hotel, where the entity’s head office is located, and other locations around the city.
Mr. Ba noted that the company has been participating at GuyExpo since its inception but had stopped for 3- 4 years. He further stressed that this year they were approached by the Ministry of Tourism with a totally new concept.
It was noted that at the exhibition everything was characterized in groups. “Tourism was placed in a village layout, which had great impact on tour companies since it brought more persons into the booth because everything was situated in one place rather than scattered.”
Ba noted that they (Evergreen) liked the concept and “putting us together made us feel bigger and better” he says. He further stated that the tourism village “layout” was a brilliant idea.
