Dear Editor,
What is wrong with Donald Ramotaur? He mentioned the establishment of a deep water harbour in Berbice at the Albion rally to “export of large-scale agri-products”. This is a wonderful idea but that is all it is to the PPP, a wonderful idea that they cannot action into reality and thus subjecting the people to further punishment, poverty and pauperization. In 2006 Team Donald promised that facility and not one pile has been driven since? Wake up Ramotaur, the people are on to you!
It is clear that Ramotar is out of new ideas to develop Guyana and thus he is recycling old ones from the 2006 PPP Manifesto to just fill pages in his 2011 Manifesto. For the record, on page 13 of the 2006 Ramotaur/Jagdeo manifesto, they promised to complete “a deep water harbour making Guyana the gateway of the Caribbean to South America “. What are these people really smoking, that they expect the Guyanese people to believe them?
Team Ramoutar has failed Berbicians and Guyanese on this whole issue of the Deep Water Harbour and many other developmental projects including the infamous Skeldon project. Should we therefore allow them to continue to fail us? Would you the Guyanese people want a partner like Donald Ramoutar who always fails you and who continues to trample on the principles of Cheddi Jagan?
Mr. Ramotaur talks about being around Cheddi from the tender age of 17 but it is obvious he have learnt extremely very little from Cde Cheddi. Cheddi wanted bread, justice and opportunities for all of his Guyanese people. He wanted human development of all, not the distribution of the resources in the Treasury to a selected few in the cabal of financial vultures closely aligned to team Ramotaur. Cheddi wanted to share the resources of the Treasury in a more equitable fashion to bridge the divide between the rich and the poor. So whom do you think you are fooling when you peddle your snake oil?
Donald, don’t you realize the people know that you sat down without a sound while your political masters plundered the solid dough from the Treasury for themselves; leaving the crumbs for the people. Compare your boss’s private mansion against that of Cheddi’s small house in Bel Air and what did you do about this kleptocracy. Nothing!
For his cowardly actions, Ramotaur has brought indignity to our nation by being the prodigal ostrich for the last 12 years. Why do you think his campaign is muted compared to the PPP campaigns of the old? The people are on to him and his tricks and deception. Ramotaur as a candidate has little credibility, little experience in Government and a weak talent base to conceive and implement public policies that will bring back dignity to the life of the Guyanese nation.
Should the Guyanese people tolerate continuation of a regime of immorality and indignity where people have to line up in front of the Ministry of Housing begging for their own land? Would people want to support a regime that turns a blind eye on the preponderance of cases of immoral living where fathers are raping daughters, neighbours are raping children, male predators are making women of little girls?
Straight up Donald, why are you ducking the issues on confronting corruption in Guyana ? Why are you ducking the debate with Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan?
Time for Change is upon us, I call on all the soldiers of change to help organize the people to come out and vote Change.
