A would-be thief was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation last night after receiving a sound thrashing while attempting to rob the proprietrix of the Dutch Bottle establishment
Kaieteur News understands that the robbery attempt occurred shortly after 20:00 hrs and that the victim, 43-year-old Reneta Chuck-A-Sang, sustained minor injuries during the attack.
A source told Kaieteur News that he was a short distance away when he heard screams of ‘thief, thief’.
The source said that he hurried to the North Road, Bourda establishment, where he saw Ms. Chung-A-Sang, whose clothing was bloodstained, holding onto a young man.
Other residents came to the scene and inflicted a beating on the woman’s attacker.
Police arrived on the scene and took the beaten thief to the GPHC.
