Five persons are critical after the pickup in which they were travelling on Friday afternoon collided with a car. The accident victims are now patients at the Suddie Public Hospital.
According to reports, the driver of the car, who lives at Adventure on the Essequibo Coast, was travelling south on the Huis’t Dieren Public Road when he attempted to swerve from a pedestrian.
In the process he collided head on into a white pickup that was travelling in the opposite direction.
Reports are that four of the five persons injured, include a vendor and his family, who were the occupants of the white pick-up that was heading to their Spring Gardens home, after selling services at the Suddie market.
The driver of the car, reports suggest, had borrowed the vehicle from a friend.
