A Devonshire Castle couple is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, for having in their possession five gallons of illegal spirits (bush rum) on Thursday at their Devonshire Castle home.
The couple was apprehended by police some time on Thursday afternoon, after a raid was conducted at their premises.
The illegal spirits was concealed in bottles in the couple’s home.
The couple has since told police that they purchased the substances to sell. The issue of illegal spirits, especially in the Region, is a sore case which needs much attention by the relevant bodies.
Over the years persons who continue to be in the business of manufacturing and selling the illegal spirits to persons were jailed, after being convicted.
The prevalence of illegal spirits is common in the Region.

Bush rum!!??. The country is falling apart at the seems with corruption in the highest places. Drug trafficking, money laundering. No arrests and the freaking police insist on running after two people with lil’ bush rum.
What jokers!
There is so many big crimes in GY that I do hope the police dont fine or jail them, instead give them a stern warning.
