Twenty-seven -year-old Shellon Alisha Boyce, was yesterday admitted to the local bar after having her petition presented by Justice James Patterson who acted as her attorney before Justice Winston Patterson.
Ms Boyce was awarded a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History on October 2005, the Bachelors of Law Degree with credits on October 22, 2009 both at the University of Guyana, and her Legal Education Certificate at the Hugh Wooding Law School on September 2, 2011.

The Roxanne Burnham Gardens resident had her pre-law practice and service at Lot 221 South Street, Lacytown.
Justice Winston Patterson advised the young lawyer that the sky is the limit since the occasion is not the culmination of her studies. Another chapter has commenced in the journey of her career.
Lawyer Boyce should have humility, be responsible and conduct herself in the correct manner, Justice Patterson said. “Miss Boyce should adhere to the ethics and profession, while contributing to the advancement of the bar and judiciary.”
Justice Winston Patterson advised the young lawyer that she should have respect for the court, be punctual, and conduct herself as an attorney and not allow public unreasonable demand to sway her in executing her duties consistent with the law.
Noting that the bar is much richer with the addition of Miss Boyce, Justice Winston Patterson said the legal profession is a noble one that should be taken seriously.
The young attorney in her response to the court said that she is aware of the high expectations of the legal profession, and as such would seek to uphold all the high standards of the noble profession.
She thanked God, her family and friends for supporting her during her studies.
