Neighbour’s request made aggravated another
The 30-year-old man who was brutally chopped by his neighbour, “Boy”, last Saturday evening remains a patient in the Incentive Care Unit (ICU) at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC).
The victim, Dodeo Narine, who lives at 26 North East Grove, East Bank Demerara, operated a rum shop at his home.
According to reports, he went outside his yard to request that his neighbours lower their music since his (Narine) 11- month-old baby was trying to get some sleep.

Narine’s request aggravated Boy who reportedly rush out to him with a Cutlass and started ‘firing’ chops across his body.
In a semi- conscious state, Narine was rushed to the GPHC and immediately underwent treatment in the High- dependency unit.
Narine’s wife, Nadine Prasad, said that she noted last Monday, that her husband was taken into the ICU since his health started to deteriorate. Narine recently underwent one surgery on his head and another is pending.
Prasad said that her husband’s head is now swollen due to the first surgery and doctors are waiting on the swelling to go away before they can perform the other operation.
According to Nadine, her husband is recovering but his recovery is very slow.
While the victim is battling for his life at the GPHC, the suspected assailant has been remanded until the 12th October, 2011.
