The authorities at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport have expressed surprise at a photograph that appeared in the Tuesday issue of the Kaieteur News.
The photograph showed massive erosion of a road in the vicinity of the international airport.
On Wednesday, authorities at the airport responded with photographs showing that the eroded roadway had been repaired.
“The eroded roadway referred to by Kaieteur News was remedied since July 2011 and still remains intact,” the airport authorities stated.
“The Ministry of Public Works and Communication is looking forward to your cooperation in having the corrected information published.”
Today we publish the photograph of the contained erosion.
