Dear Editor,
I thank Harry Gill for his letter, “Two Rotten Peas in the same pod,” (KN 09-26-11). Harry has long been slinging dirt at critics of his new political masters and in the process he has got much mud on his hands and face.
However, today we have the WikiLeaks cables to hose down Harry with. Here is what the US the cables said of Jagdeo, and please Harry be a good boy and stay under the shower. No, you don’t need soap.
The WikiLeaks cables have certainly confirmed the PPP/Jagdeo regime links to narco traffickers. Businessmen have told the US diplomats that they saw convicted drug lord Roger Khan entering and leaving the Office of the President, as well as State House – the official residence of Jagdeo.
What is clear now is that the initial mayhem caused by some gunmen on the East Coast of Demerara in 2002 was fully exploited by the PPP/Jagdeo government and the drug traffickers.
After some Indo-Guyanese were killed the regime did nothing to solve the murders and restore law and order. Instead the PPP chose to reinforce its racial fear in Indo-Guyanese. PPP leaders would visit the victims’ homes and shed crocodile tears
According to the WikiLeaks cable the PPP/Jagdeo government refused security aid from the USA, UK, CAN, and EU. The regime also refused to call for UN peace keeping troops. Instead the narco traffickers were allowed to operate death squads that killed hundreds of Guyanese.
In the meanwhile the drug lords were exporting tons upon tons of cocaine out of Guyana. The result of all this is that today Guyana is a narco state where the Jagdeo/PPP dictators survive politically on racial fear mongering in the Indo- Guyanese Community as the nouveau riche plunders Guyana.
