Dear Editor,
The Guyana Power and Light Corporation (GPL) on the 08-09-2011 planted two 12,000 volt electric cables over my premises at Lot 1Hydronie, Parika, East Bank Essequibo in order to supply a privately owned housing scheme with electricity.
This is a life threat to the residents since it has been done in a dangerous and hazardous manner. Ever since the planting of those cables the owner has made numerous calls and complaints to the GPL offices only to be ignored, harassed and discriminated against.
It was even suggested by an officer that the owner’s property, which is a transported property, is illegal and as such GPL has no responsibility. This said officer seems bent on total discrimination.
I am appealing to the general public and to all the relevant authorities to look into this matter immediately before there is yet another innocent fatality or fatalities at the hands of GPL.
