One of Guyana’s leading departmental store, Gizmos & Gadgets on Friday last renewed cricket sponsorship with the nation’s leading youth & sports organisation, the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC).
The sponsorship covers the Club’s Under-23 and First Division teams with the package worth $400,000 for 2011.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster said that this is the third year of the partnership which will also see Gizmos & Gadgets providing 20 pairs of coloured uniforms ($150,000) and $250,000 cash which would be used to purchase balls and to provide transportation and snacks.

The long standing Secretary/CEO expressed gratitude to Mr. Ravi Mangar and the Management of the Company for investing in one of Guyana’s top cricket teams. The Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets First Division team over the past 19 years has produced a total of five senior Guyana players, 21 Guyana Junior players and a total of 49 for Berbice at all levels.
The Team also won the national championship in 2004 and 2005 and was named Guyana Cricket Board Team of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2010. Among the players produced by the Club are Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon, Esuan Crandon, Delbert Hicks, Dominic Rikhi, Clinton Pestano, Shemaine Campbelle, Erva Giddings, Neil Williams and Shawn Grant.
Gizmos & Gadgets Marketing Officer Trevor Rose said that his CEO Mr. Ravi Mangar and the Company was pleased to be associated with the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club and has followed the Teams’ progress with pride and satisfaction.
Gizmos & Gadgets as a responsible Corporate Company was delighted to contribute to the development of youths through sports and he challenged the players to continue to be good ambassadors of his Company’s brand name.
Berbice Senior Player and member of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Rajiv Ivan in accepting the sponsorship cheque on behalf of his team mates pledged that the Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets team would continue to be discipline, dedicated and productive on and off the field. The team for 2011 has already reached the finals of the BCB Ramcharitar Construction Services 50-overs tournament and is heading the points table in the Tenelec Inc. 50 overs competition.
The team to date has also completed seven charity programmes this year and has scheduled another three before the end of the year.
The Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets Captain for the season is Assad Fudadin with Royston Crandon his deputy and Patrick Lewis as Cricket Director.
