The badly decomposed body of a man was found in his Lot 86 Pere Street, Kitty home yesterday morning around 11:00hrs after residents began to complain of an obnoxious smell that was emanating from the man’s house.
They feared for the worst because they could not recall seeing their neighbour, known to them for years as “Scoochie”, in his yard for the past few days.
Kaieteur News understands that after several calls were made to the man’s associates and relatives they eventually came and discovered his body lying on a couch opposite his television set.
It was suggested that Scoochie was probably viewing television set when he died.
He was said to be a very active individual who would be seen tending to his garden every morning at a specific hour.
“No he wasn’t sickly or anything. I don’t know his right name you know. Nobody really know him other than Scoochie. We grow up around here and that is all we know him as. He live there for years and would always be up and about.
“Actually is not his place. It is some close family friends or friends who gone abroad and he care-taking it for a set of years now,” said an acquaintance of the deceased.
Neighbours told this newspaper that Scoochie was in his early 60’s and lived alone.
