The Rising Sun Turf Club in collaboration with the Charity organization True Friendship Committee has once again organized a Grand Fund Raising one day horserace meet set for Sunday October 2 at the Famous Rising Sun Turf club Arima Park West Coast Berbice.
Eight races are listed for the day with over $5.2M in prize monies and trophies at stake and with a number of feature events on the card the day’s card action is set to be riveting.
Beverage giants Banks DIH limited headlines the list of sponsors that have come on board so far with Telephone giants Digicel and Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market being the other major sponsor for the day’s activities to date.
There are a number of feature events on the days’ card namely with the E and lower, the 3 yr old, Two 2 year old events and the G class races.
The feature E class event has a first prize of $500,000 and will see the horses galloping over a distance of 1400M. $400,000 is the winning prize in the three year old event over 1300M for horses Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies. The two year old event for horses of similar stature goes over 1100M with the first prize tagged at $ 300,000.
There is a race for Guyana Bred maiden two year old horses also over 1100M where the winner will get $200,000. The highly competitive G class event is over 1300 Meters and the winner is set to cart off $220,000.
The H class event is for a winner’s money of $200,000 this time over 1300M. The ‘I’ class race will be going for a top prize of $180,000 over a 1300M distance. The final event is for 13 horses with one win and lower where the winner is set to receive $160,000 which is another 1100M sprint.
Other incentives on offer will be for champion jockey and champion trainer compliments of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the organizers.
