Queens, New York- Police are looking for the driver who fatally struck a man on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens earlier yesterday.
A 65-year-old man who had gotten into an accident had exited his car to inspect the damage, and WABC 7 reports, “a passing vehicle struck him and kept going.”
The Daily News says that police think the victim’s car was also hit by the hit-and-run driver.
“A tool kit lay in the middle of the road about 20 feet from where the vehicle came to rest.”
The victim, who has been identified as Guyanese immigrant Jerry Kishun (or Jishun), died at Elmhurst Hospital.
The police are also seeking the driver who was in the initial accident. It’s believed that Kishun, who was on his way to work in Woodside, had stopped near the 82nd Street exit after rear-ending another car. (gothamist.com)
