The suspected obeah lady, who has once frustrated residents of Leonora after she was released from police custody about a month ago, has now matched the description of another suspected obeah lady conducting “business” in some parts of Timehri.
Previous reports concluded that the woman, who goes by many names including Ann Rogers and Sister Ann, would pretend to spiritually cure people in order to gain entry to their homes and businesses for the purpose of stealing and if persons refuse to be cured she would threaten to harm them.
“She does go to people’s house and tell them they got to give her money for her to cure them, some people believe she and pay she and she tek de money and plus thief nuff things from them,” said one resident of Leonora.
Residents of Timehri are also frustrated and scared as a woman matching Ann Rogers description has been seen patrolling the area on a daily basis in a very suspicious manner and a report has already been lodged against the woman after she allegedly stole from a resident.
However persons stated that every time they made attempts to inform the police of the woman’s presence in the area she would mysteriously disappear.
Like residents from many villages on the East Coast, persons from Timehri are asking the members of the public to be serious about this woman as she truly is dangerous, but cannot be arrested as there is a lack of evidence.
