The Bakewell Softball Tournament, which is run by the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association, continued last Sunday with several matches in the male open and over-40 categories. The female tournament is set to start on September 11 and the Essequibo Zone is set to start this Sunday, September 4.
In results from the matches played:-
At D.C.C. Ground:
Davo’s Lumber Yard Ogle Industry defeated Young Guns by 47 runs, with Ogle Industry scoring 125 runs and Young Guns replying with 78 runs.
Trophy Stall A defeated Regal by 8 wickets; Regal scoring 112 runs all out and Trophy Stall A scoring 113-2; Mark Harold scoring 45.
Regal Masters defeated Success by 9 runs; Regal Masters hit 121 all out and Success Masters responded with 112 runs.
At The Ministry of Education Ground:
Floodlights defeated Park Rangers by 26 runs with Floodlights scoring 168; Imtiaz Mohamed scoring 58 and Park Rangers scoring 142-8 in reply.
Omesh defeated Bel Air by 72 runs. Omesh scored 179-6 with Aftab Bacchus scoring 69 runs and Bel Air making 107 with Rabindra Narine having 5-13.
Tornado won by walk over against Juice Power.
Uitvlugt Warriors defeated Everest by 27 runs with Uitvlugt scoring 256 runs and Everest replying with 229; Rambarose captured 5-33.
At Cyril Potter Ground:
L.B.I. Top Guns defeated Trophy Stall B by 14 runs, with L.B.I scoring 100 runs and Richard Dowlatram making 42. Trophy Stall B fell short at 86 runs with R. Karim claiming 3-18.
Challengers defeated Airport by 6 wickets with Airport scoring 106 all out and Challengers responding with 107-4.
Savage defeated Industry Super Kings by 7 wickets with Super Kings scoring 160 all out with Iswar Persaud scoring 39 runs, Malo Malone took 4-17. Savage Masters made 162-3; Malo Malone scored 55 not out and Falim Mohamed 43.
Rockaway won by walk over against Jaguars.
Deryck Auto Sales defeated R.R.T. Vipers by 3 wickets. Vipers scored 112 all out with Dindyal scoring 42 not out. Deryck Auto Sales responded with 116-7.
In the Berbice Zone:
Celebrity Times defeated Olendorf Carriers by 2 wickets. Olendorf Carriers scored 84 all out and Celebrity Times scored 85-8.
