Cabinet met on Friday, last, August 26, and offered its no-objections to several major contracts. Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr. Roger Luncheon made this disclosure at his weekly press conference yesterday.
Three of the noteworthy approvals are the four-lane expansion on the East Bank Public Road between Providence and Diamond – US$17.2M; the East Coast four-lane upgrade from Better Hope to Montrose – $468.2M and from Montrose to La Bonne Intention – $671.6M.
Some of the significant projects include:

Construction of Roll on Roll off ferry facility at the Parika and Supernaam Stelling | $377.9M |

Luncheon said that under the Community Roads Improvement Project (CRIP) in the housing sector which comprises 14 National Democratic Councils and addresses the rehabilitation of roads, several contracts were approved as follows:

Meanwhile, Luncheon noted that in the Housing and Water sector, there was approval for two awards for the installation of a pure water distribution network, and the construction of roads, drains and structures in Plantation Providence, East Bank Demerara area – the first lot is for $200.9M and the second lot for $197.1M.
