The Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) and the Guyana Veterinary Association have planned a Grand Horserace meet for Sunday September 25 at the club’s Alness Corentyne race track.
Eight races are listed on the day’s cards with the C1 and lower event slated as the top race on the day’s programme. The 1400M event has a first prize of $500,000 and trophy at stake.
The other events listed are the E3 & Lower category 1400M with a winning purse of $280,000 and trophy. The 3yrs old race for Guyana and West Indies Bred Horses classified G1 and lower over 1200M for a top prize of $250,000 and trophy.
The F3 & Lower 1400M race with winnings set at $200,000 and trophy.
The two year old race is an open event and also has a winning purse of $200,000 also 1200M. The H3 & Lower event has a winning purse of $170,000 with the distance being 1200M. There is a race for I3 horses that won two races and Non-winners of 3 years old and lower with a winning money of $140,000 over 1200M.
The final event planned for the day is for horses classified K&L with first prize of $70,000 and also over 1200M. Top individual performers including champion and runner-up Jockeys, top stable and trainers will be presented with accolades compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities.
A number of the country’s top racehorses including a number of new imports are expected to be on show. Race time is 13:00hrs.
