The Guyana Cycle Federation (GCF) will host a fundraising cycling meet and Take-Away-Lunch today in the National Park aimed at procuring the necessary funds to attend the Elite Caribbean Senior Cycling Championships in Jamaica.
Apart from the Jamaican tour, the GCF hopes to garner enough funds to attend a four-stage cycle meet in Suriname while equipping itself to also compete at the Guyana Ride for Life IV.
The federation asked all stakeholders to support today’s event. Some of the events carded for today include the flying 200m race, team time-trials and a feature one-hour race with the bell ringing after the last two laps following the hour. Events for BMX, Veterans and Mountain Bikes are also on the cards.
Guyana’s leading cyclists including Enzo Mathews are expected to compete today.
