Man’s body damaged by rats at Matthews Ridge mortuary
Shooting in North West…
No arrests have been made yet into last Monday’s shooting to death of 42-year-old Emanuel Evans at Powis Backdam, Five Star, North West District.
Reports are that Evans was shot in the chest while representing his relative, 23-year-old Ewart Hescott who was also shot in the region of his groin. Hescott is presently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

The assailant is said to be a businessman who had refused to extend credit to them for goods from his shop.
Relatives who received Evan’s body in the city yesterday said that there were severe rat bites about the man’s face, lips and among other parts of his body.
Reports reveal that there are two new refrigerator systems installed in the morgue in the North West District.
However, no reason has been given why bodies of the dead are not being stored properly.
In addition, residents complained that “some persons have to buy ice everyday to keep bodies from rotting” at the facility.
Recently there have been several complaints that the mortuary at Matthews Ridge is not functioning as it should and this has caused tremendous expenses to be incurred by relatives of persons who have passed away.
